Product Description

Jersey is a highbush blueberry cultivar which is well known for good cold hardiness, vigor, and large numbers of 1/4" - 1/2" sized fruit with excellent sweetness. Jersey shrubs will mature at a slightly larger size than many other highbush varieties if left to grow naturally, and untrimmed. To obtain maximum fruit yield, a second variety of Blueberry is recommended to be planted within close proximity - doing so will usually increase both fruit set, as well as fruit size. Foliage of Jersey is rather large leaved (up to 3" - 3 1/2" long), oval shaped, and very nice deep green in color. Fall coloration is a very attractive orange / red color. White bell shaped blooms begin in May, with fruit set beginning shortly after - beginning to ripen in mid season (late June thru early July in East TN). Most all blueberry cultivars tend to have rather shallow root systems, which will require adequate amounts of water especially during fruiting. Starter plant in a 2.5" Pot. Dormant shipping in winter. Cannot ship to Washington state due to USDA regulations.

    Jersey Blueberry

The plant was well packed and arrived live and well. I transacted it to a pot and it looks like it took. Only time will tell if I get any berries but so far, so good.
